awoke to some great news this morning, and now it appears the Marlins have added to the fanbase euphoria this afternoon, sending longtime nemesis of the blog Emilio Bonifacio down to Triple-A New Orleans. Needless to say, I am thrilled with the decision. In his place, outfielder Brett Carroll will rejoin the club, having spent the beginning of the season on the disabled list. Carroll makes way more sense as a fourth-outfielder option than Bonifacio, plus he should be a better pinch-hit option coming off the bench.
sent to New Orleans demoted is reliever Jose Veras, who was DFA'd. Veras can throw 95 mph but has not been able to throw many strikes to begin the season. He is replaced by Chris Leroux.
